At aasarallc, our Occupational Therapy (OT) Services are designed to help adults regain, develop, and maintain the skills needed for meaningful daily living. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, independence, and purpose—regardless of physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges.

Our licensed occupational therapists work closely with residents to enhance their ability to engage in everyday activities such as dressing, cooking, personal hygiene, mobility, and recreational pursuits. Whether recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or adapting to age-related changes, our residents receive personalized care aimed at improving quality of life and fostering self-sufficiency.

Rooted in our core values of courage, lifelong learning, and community, our OT services support individuals in achieving greater autonomy and redefining what it means to thrive.

Scope of Occupational Therapy Services

Our occupational therapy program at Aasarallc includes a wide range of therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident. These services are provided by licensed occupational therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs), working within an interdisciplinary team that includes nurses, social workers, and behavioral health specialists.

Individualized Evaluation and Care Planning

Each resident receives a comprehensive assessment to determine their current functional abilities and personal goals. Based on this evaluation, we create a customized treatment plan focused on:

  • Improving fine and gross motor skills

  • Enhancing coordination and balance

  • Increasing strength and endurance

  • Adapting to cognitive or sensory impairments

Care plans are reviewed regularly to reflect progress and evolving needs.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Training

We help residents improve or maintain their ability to perform essential daily tasks such as

  • Personal grooming and hygiene

  • Dressing and toileting

  • Meal preparation and feeding

  • Home safety and organization

Therapists provide adaptive tools and strategies to promote independence while ensuring safety and confidence.

Mobility and Fall Prevention Programs

For older adults or those with physical limitations, our therapists implement targeted exercises and training to:

  • Improve balance and coordination

  • Reduce fall risk

  • Enhance safe transfers and ambulation

  • Promote proper use of walkers, canes, and other assistive devices

These interventions help increase mobility and reduce dependence on others.

Cognitive and Perceptual Rehabilitation

Residents dealing with memory loss, dementia, stroke, or traumatic brain injury benefit from structured cognitive therapy focusing on:

  • Attention and concentration

  • Memory retention and recall

  • Problem-solving and decision-making

  • Visual perception and spatial awareness

Activities are designed to stimulate cognitive function and encourage mental engagement.

Sensory Integration and Environmental Adaptation

For individuals with sensory processing challenges, we provide sensory-based therapeutic interventions and environmental modifications, such as:

  • Installing grab bars and non-slip flooring

  • Recommending adaptive kitchen tools

  • Adjusting lighting and furniture for accessibility

Vocational and Leisure Re-engagement

We help residents:

  • Explore hobbies and creative outlets

  • Participate in volunteer opportunities

  • Engage in light vocational tasks

  • Develop job readiness skills where appropriate

These activities foster purpose, confidence, and community participation.

Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment Training

Our team introduces and trains residents in the use of essential assistive tools such as

  • Adaptive utensils and dressing aids

  • Communication tools

  • Smart home technology

  • Wheelchair accessories and ergonomic supports

Our goal is to increase independence through useful, modern support tools.
